Talking about Americans' environmental awareness

Abstract: During the westward expansion movement in the 19th century, a large number of environmental problems in the United States emerged, and Americans' environmental awareness began to awaken, and legislation and actions to protect natural resources and the environment began to appear. In the post-war 60s, the ecological outlook quickly became the mainstream environmental consciousness of the American public. In this process, the works of ecologists such as "Sand Country Almanac" and "Silent Spring" have played a very important role in promoting the awakening of environmental awareness in Americans. While environmental awareness has had a significant impact on U.S. environmental politics and policy, in recent years, Americans have been more negative than the European Union and Japan in terms of environmental policy.
