Abstract: A series of achievements have been published on the study of environmental history in the ancient Northeast region, which focusing on three periods: prehistoric, Liao and Jin, as well as Ming and Qing. This article evaluates the achievements, characteristics, and limitations of research in different periods, and provides an overall analysis of the study of ancient environmental history in the Northeast region, in order to facilitate the academic community's overall understanding and mastery of the environmental history of the ancient Northeast region on the basis of summarizing previous achievements.
