Abstract: In recent years, sustainable development has become the universal consensus of the international community, and the biggest challenge for the global economy is to achieve sustainable growth. The material of this simulated interpreting practice is from the 2022Caijing Sustainable Development Summit hosted by Caijing Magazine on December 23, 2021. This summit belongs to the category of economic conference, with strong professionalism and colloquial language style, which has high requirements for interpreters.

In this simulated interpreting practice, the author adopts the form of consecutive interpreting and takes adaptation theory as the guiding framework, briefly introduces the content of adaptation theory and analyzes its applicability to conference interpreting. In the crucial part of the report, the author analyzes the corpus from four dimensions of contextual adaptation, structural adaptation, dynamic adaptation and salience of adaptation, including 18 examples, mainly discussing the language choices made by the author in accordance with the adaptation theory. The practice report also proves that the adaptation theory can help the interpreters solve many problems in the process of interpreting C-E economic conferences.

Finally, the author makes a practice summary, hoping that this study can promote the combination of economic conference interpreting and adaptation theory, and further improve the author’s interpreting ability. It is also expected that the practice report can provide some reference and help for other interpreters’ interpreting practice.
